There is a lot to read, and much that is funny, entertaining, and informative. If someone asked me what my top five gluten-free recipe books were, this one would be on the list.

There are just not enough recipes that I would like to try and, if the many reviews that I read are to be believed, the cookbook does not contain the exact finished treats that you can buy in the bakery.

My kids all gobbled up the cookies, and that was after eating sugared up cake. So, a little tricky and somewhat expensive ingredients, but easy recipes, and an amazing homemade gluten-free, butter-free, egg-free, chocolate chip cookie!

It’s a matter of pride Otherwise, things come out pretty damn tasty, and anyone would be hard pressed to recognize any of it as gluten-free, let alone vegan. I love it so much—right up there with the babies and the husband.

This is important news not only for parents whose children have allergies, for vegans, and for others who struggle with food sensitivities, but also for all you sugar-loving traditionalists. I have only tried a couple of the recipes and enjoyed them. Not a plus for me.

I got a prompt response about subbing out the Spelt flour along with suggestions for other kinds of oils I can use instead of Coconut, which is expensive. Your diet is incomprehensible. The cooking times are very precise, and like a magic trick, the cookies were cooked perfectly. Baking didn’t seem to have much appeal for me if I couldn’t sample my creations! How very sensible of you. For vegan, gluten-free baked goods the recipes are not bad but I think something got lost in translating the recipes from restaurant scale to home cook I was disappointed with the amount of sweeteners called for in the recipes.

I do highly recommend the spelt biscuits and SO I bought this book many years agobefore I was well versed and comfortable with some of the more exotic ingredients and I failed miserably with it. That the ingredients they use in the bakery cannot be bought by the average home cook. And if they have to ship, they can just watch a video and party with us at home. I wish McKenna would give two versions for these recipes. There’s gluten in here.
